Transgender Services

Full Time Trans

Gender Identity in Florida Today (GIFT) initiated the Full-Time Trans Group in 2007 at the request of individuals attending the other groups. This is a peer-to-peer support group in which transsexuals in transition and post-op transsexuals can meet to discuss problems specific to their situation. GIFT provides a moderator to guide the group discussions and to provide current information of interest to the members. The members present at any meeting determine the topics discussed. The general tenor of the group is social and most of the members present at any meeting know each other from previous associations. This is usually the smallest of the GIFT groups meeting at The Center providing for intimate conversations on private topics. Topics covered range from SRS providers to dilation problems to discussing employment problems. Following the meeting, the members present are encouraged to adjourn to a local restaurant for further socializing. The group meets from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.

Trans Central Station

Trans Central Station is the oldest of the support groups sponsored by Gender Identity in Florida Today (GIFT).  It was originally designed as an GLBT information source and ;has since morphed into a general peer-to-peer support group.  TCS welcomes all individuals within the GLBT spectrum, their family and supporters.  GIFT provides a moderator to guide the group discussions and provide resources, but the topics discussed are determined by the members present.  The general tenor of the group is social, but serious interventions have occurred.  Topics can range from WPATH treatment schedules to local providers of services to local businesses that support GLBT individuals.

Following the meeting, the members present are encouraged to adjourn to a local restaurant for further socializing.  The group meets from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on the 1st Tuesday of the month.
