Centered in the Arts, A Summer Workshop Series

THE CENTER Summer Workshop Series in partnership with Central Florida Arts

All classes will be held at The Center - 946 N Mills Ave

Summer Session:#1

Storytelling Class [6 weeks] Saturdays, June 9th - July 14th, from 1-2pm
Participants will learn the art of story crafting as well as how to deliver their story in an entertaining and engaging way. Come with your ears and heart open and ready to be entertained!

Second Saturday Workshop, Play Writing - June 9th from 2-3pm
Young playwrights of all different experience levels will learn how to cultivate their ideas into theatrical text. Learn conflict, plot, dialogue, drama and how all those elements come together into a successful product.

o Painting and Drawing - July 14th
Come learn the basics of painting and drawing and learn how to see the world around you things in a new way. Participants will learn a variety of techniques, materials and processes used to create two dimensional art, as well as how to break the rules and develop their own style!


Summer Session #2


Improv Class [6 weeks] Saturdays July 21st - August 25th from 1-2pm
Learn how to think on your feet and discover the basics of improvisation as a form of theater, and communication! Participants will learn important improvisation basics such as positive game play, creativity and storytelling. Make sure you show up ready to laugh, learn and participate!


Second Saturday Workshop - Spoken Word & Voice - August 11 2pm-3pm
Learn to embrace the joy and power of words! Spoken Word is an art form that focuses on the aesthetics of word play, intonation and inflection. Participants will learn how to bring their words to life in a supportive community and become apart of the esteemed history of Spoken Word.
