“Nikki & Taylor” is a feature film written and directed by Erika Rydell and produced by Steph Segler. It’s a beautiful love story about two girls who fall in love and are confronted with their own identities. To give you a feeling for the story, we would like to share a few words from Barry Sandler, best known for writing the 1982 film “Making Love,” the first mainstream Hollywood film to deal seriously with homosexuality and coming out.

WHAT IS KICKSTARTER?
Kickstarter is a fundraising tool for getting this film made. Through donations from friends, families and art enthusiasts, we hope to raise the money for our start-up costs. The funds will be used for insurance, equipment rental, transportation, locations, set design, payment for our SAG actors, and for food to feed our cast and crew for 23 days! We are very resourceful at making a little go a long way. For our pre-production and production phase, we have set a target amount of $18,500 for the Kickstarter campaign. We only have 28 DAYS to raise this amount!

WHAT IS THE TIMELINE FOR THIS PRODUCTION?
We’ve spent the past six months assembling a solid creative team and mapping out a financial, logistical, and creative strategy for the film. We will spend the coming months locking locations, crew, and cast. Once we have acquired our funding, we will begin production shortly after and will shoot for 23 days beginning on December 5th into January 6th. The three months following production will be dedicated to editing, sound design, and music composition. After that, the film will be completed and we will go through all avenues to get it out to a theater near you!
IS MY PLEDGE AMOUNT PRIVATE?
Yes. Only you and the project creator will see the amount pledged.
WHAT HAPPENS IF WE DON’T REACH OUR GOAL?
This project will only be funded if at least $18,500 is raised in 28 days! If we don’t reach our goal, everyone’s donation will be refunded and this film will take even longer to make. We will have to continue to beg and borrow. $18,500 is the minimum amount we’re asking to kickstarter this project. If we surpass our goal, that’s great!
