Center Capital Campaign – We Need You!

Dear Center Supporter,

In 2013, The Center will celebrate 35 years of service and support to the GLBT community in Central Florida. The Center started as a gay hotline, which was incorporated in 1978. It has had its ups and downs over the years, but in the past two years The Center has become a stable viable organization under the leadership of Executive Director Randy Stephens.

The Center is now open seven days a week. It hosts some 80 group meetings per month, provides free HIV testing seven days a week to over 300 clients per month, hosts numerous town hall meetings, continues the art exhibits, reaches out to the straight community to garner broader support and allies, and was instrumental in the recent passage of the gay friendly ordinances in Orlando and Orange County.

The Center is one of the few centers in the nation that owns its own building, and we would like to celebrate its 35th anniversary by paying off the rest of the mortgage. That would leave The Center debt free so it can better support its mission and expand its support, service, and leadership to the Central Florida GLBT community.

To accomplish this goal The Center is initiating the Center Capital Campaign (CCC) to raise $350,000 by March 2013 and retire the debt. This is an ambitious goal but the gay and straight communities working together can do it if we try. Yes we can.

We ask you to support our mission throughout Central Florida by making your most generous gift to The Center today. Please use our online donation system and indicate that your gift is for the Center Capital Campaign (CCC) to ensure your donation is applied to the Center Capital Campaign account, and used only to reduce and help retire the mortgage debt.

Thank you for all of your help for The Center Orlando!
Randy Stephens
